Are you searching for a rewarding opportunity where you can make a real difference? Join our team as a volunteer Meals on Wheels Driver and help deliver nutritious meals—and smiles—to older adults and individuals with disabilities.

As an essential member of our Nutrition Department, you’ll provide more than just food—you’ll offer connection, compassion, and a vital safety check for homebound neighbors. For many, your friendly visit may be the only face they see all day.

Delivery routes are available in Holyoke, Chicopee, South Hadley, Granby, Ludlow, and Ware. While we do our best to match you with a route close to home, assignments are based on community need. You’ll drive the same route each day, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with the people you serve.

Volunteer drivers receive mileage reimbursement and can choose flexible morning schedules, from 1 to 5 days per week, depending on your availability and interest. Each shift lasts about 2-3 hours.

This is a wonderful opportunity for retired older adults who want to stay active and engaged, or for parents looking for meaningful work while the kids are in school.

Provide individual support to older adults who need help paying bills, writing checks, monitoring income and expenses, and balancing a checkbook. For a time commitment of 1-2 hours per month, this rewarding work enables older adults to remain independent in their own homes and communities. Be an impartial advocate who visits local long term care facility residents weekly, making sure their concerns are heard & addressed. Ombudsman volunteers develop trusting relationships with residents, educate them about their rights, and advocate for their quality of care. They work closely with staff to resolve disputes and concerns. Ombudsman volunteers receive comprehensive training and certification from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services and supervision and support from Access Care Partners' Ombudsman Director.
